How to Rank High on Google

To rank high on Google, your website has to be measured by “500 million variables and 2 billion terms” of Google’s equation, as stated on Google’s Corporate Information Technology Overview page. Google’s ranking system is based on a democracy, and the citizens are the links on the worldwide web that vote for each other. Not unlike our government today, many of these “links” are paid for, and some are of greater value. Ranking high on Google is playing politics. Links and Keywords are the key players in the ranking game. Google also takes into consideration the full content of the page including HTML codes, fonts, subdivisions and the “precise location of each word.”

Links are votes. You must develop a link strategy. Google likes linking things together. Create a rich network of links with distinct quality content. Your website must have quality links going out and coming in. Quality is the key word. Links from reputable pages (which ironically includes .gov pages) are given more weight than links on “link farm” pages. Linking to a “link farm” is one of the worst things you can do and can potentially get your deported off the web. The better the links, the better your ranking. Google will factor in your page content and the content of the pages you link to. Do your research. Google has a free page rank tool on their toolbar. Use it to find out the page ranking and visit the site.

Google also gives more weight to one-way links that lead to your site, and less weight to reciprocal links. How do you get these? Buy them. List yourself in a reputable directory listing. Make sure you are listed in the Open Directory Project (DMOZ.org). If you can’t buy links, write good content. Give someone a reason to link to your site. Again, the keyword is Quality. Submitting articles and press releases are also strategies in the linking game.

Keywords are your platform. They are what you stand for. Words count. Graphics don’t. Make sure your words are not in graphic form and make sure you have relevant titles under your graphics. Start with your title tag. Put everything you stand for in ten words or less. Make your URLs short and keyword specific. Brand yourself. If you type in soda, Mountain Dew will not show up on the first page. If you type in Mountain Dew, it will be on the first page. Brand yourself so users know what they are searching for. Do not put the same words in every heading and every tag. Be descriptive. Sell yourself. There are multitudes of free keyword rank and suggestion tools. Use them as a supplement to your knowledge of your company.

Think of every element in your website as words and pages in a presentation that is going to be up for a vote. Does everything fit? Is it all related? Are you a reputable company with a quality product? Does it sell? Now sell it. Google is waiting for you.

After your web site has been accepted for inclusion in the Google AdSense program, the next step should be to format those ads properly in order to provide visitors to your web site with a pleasant and consistent viewing experience. It may be a good idea to experiment with several different ad formats until you find the one that will provide maximum benefit and maximum profits.

Fortunately, Google provides a number of excellent tracking tools so it is easy to see the effect each formatting change will have on clickthrough rates and resulting revenues.

Google is very good at choosing the ads to display on their participating web sites, and at making sure that each ad is targeted and relevant to the content included on the web site. It is important, however, for every owner of an AdSense participating web site to make his or her own decisions when it comes to formatting those special blocks of text.

It is important for the AdSense ads to look as if they are a natural part of the web site itself. Studies have shown that ads which are able to blend in with the web site itself have a greater probability of being clicked than those that are made to stick out.It is important that visitors to your web site are presented with a consistent look and feel across all the pages of the web sites, and that the ads served appear as if they are a natural part of the web site content.

There are a number of factors involved in this blending in process of course. Some of the most critical factors to consider when deciding how to format an AdSense ad are the color of the text, the boldness of the text, the font used and the overall color scheme. These factors should all be matched to the those used on the rest of the web page.

If the web page is written in Times New Roman 12, the ad should be formatted with the same font. The size of the font should also match that of the surrounding text as much as possible.

The Google AdSense program also provides web site owners with the option of putting a border around the ad. In general, however,this is a bad idea, as it tends to accentuate the ad and make it stand out. It is better to have the ad blend in with the surrounding web site, so it is generally best to pass on the border option.

When choosing colors and fonts, it is important to consider the overall color scheme of the web site itself. It is important that the text be easily readable at a number of different color depths and screen resolutions, as ads that are not easily read are unlikely to ever be clicked. It is a good idea to look at the website at several different resolutions, and if possible on several different types of web browsers, in order to make sure that the ads appear legible and unobtrusive.

No matter what colors and formatting is used for the rest of the ads, however, the text links should always appear in blue. Blue is the color that web site visitors are used to seeing for links, and it is better to use that perception to your advantage. Change anything else you want to match the look and feel of your web site,but leave the text links in blue.

For those who are interested in going beyond text ads, the Google AdSense program does offer a number of graphic ads, also called image ads. In general, however, text ads tend to work better and result in higher click through rates. For most web sites, text ads will load faster and look better, but if Google thinks an image ads will be more appropriate one will be suggested.

PLR Review

I've been doing a lot of reading lately about Private Label Rights (PLR) content.

I used to think that it was only for lazy people who didn't want to do their own writing. But as I learn more, I've come up with lots of great ways I can use PLR in my own business.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, PLR is content that you get from the original author along with their permission to use it as your own. So you can get a great report, put your name on it and have your own product to sell or give away!

The first couple of products I created using PLR only took me about half an hour. There have been a few sales so far from them so that was definitely time well spent.

When searching for PLR content to use, I found there were a lot of different types of sites available. Some offered monthly memberships and others offered just one time purchases. So be sure to look around before you decide where to buy.

The site I found that was by far the best was PLRWholesaler. Not only do they have an unbelievable amount of content, but it's completely FREE. Most sites charge an arm and a leg for the amount of content that this guy is giving away.

And although I haven't been through everything yet, what I have read is very good quality. It's stuff you would actually want to use as your own.

Since it's free, I highly recommend that you check out PLRWholesaler and see if they have anything that you can use in your business. There just may be an ebook or audio recording that you could quickly brand with your information and start selling to your list.

Going beyond the Google AdSense basics

Even though Google AdSense for Content is the biggest of the AdSense programs, AdSense for search is a powerful and potentially lucrative program in its own right. Google AdSense for search allows the owner of the web site to add a Google search bar to the web site, and this in turn allows visitors to the site to search the internet directly from the web site. The difference between this concept and a normal Google web search, of course, is that you make money in the process.

When a user performs a search using Google AdSense for search, the page that is displayed to that visitor also displays Google Ads(using AdWords) next to the usual listing, just as it would if the search were performed from the Google site. If the visitor clicks on any of those Google ads, you get a payment. Therefore, adding a Google search bar to your can provide an additional stream of income while at the same time increasing the usefulness of your website for viewers.

The other Google AdSense program is the Google AdSense Premium service. This program provides more advanced functions and features to those web sites which qualify for the program. It is important to point out that only a small percentage of web sites will qualify for Google AdSense Premium service, as the criteria are very strict.

The base requirement for participation in the Google AdSensePremium service is that the web site must have received at least five million search queries or 20 million page views per month. Chances are that those web site owners who qualify for this premium service are already old hands at using AdSense.

No matter what the level of service or type of Google AdSense program you choose, one of the first questions you have will no doubt be how much money you can make. We have, of course, all seen those ads and come ons promising thousands of dollars in a matterof days, but the fact is that this is generally not the case.

Even so, however, it is possible for web site owners to make a great deal of money through the AdSense program, and many people are doing just that. Better yet, once the HTML code is in place and the web site is part of the program, very little is needed in terms of on going maintenance and intervention on the part of the web siteowner or webmaster.

The concept of earning money from Google AdSense is simple to understand. Every time a visitor to your web site clicks o an a on one of your pages, you are entitled to a percentage of the money Google earns for the ad. This can equate to very high levels of income, especially for the more high profile and high traffic sites.

In addition, even owners of small but successful sites in niche markets can enjoy a great deal of income through AdSense. If your site focuses on keywords for which there is a great deal of demand, that demand will result in higher ad prices for Google, and better ad revenue for you as visitors click the ads that are being served.

Let's look at a quick example of how that revenue can ad up. For this example, the clickthrough value of an ad is 30 cents. This means that Google is paid 30 cents each time the ad is clicked. The payout ratio for the ad is 50%, or 0.5, close to the current payout rate for most ads. Let's assume the ad is displayed 100times throughout the day and then clicked by nine visitors (for a clickthrough ratio of 0.09), and that the web page traffic is equal to 150 visitors.

The formula used to calculate possible earnings revenue would beas follows:

Clickthrough value (.30) times payout ratio (0.5) times clickthrough ratio) times website visitors (150) times ad display(100). This formula of 0.30 * 0.5 * 0.09 * 150 * 100 gives us a dollar figure of $202.50. If this average daily income were to be repeated throughout the month, the monthly earnings under this scenario would be over $6,000. Pretty good earnings, especially considering how simple and automated the Google AdSense program really is.

So let’s try an example. Let’s say I operate a website that sells flowers, I want to find other flower-related websites that have a submit your site feature. So in a search engine I type “submit your site” flowers

If I then click on one of the results we can see that there is indeed a submission form that enables me to enter my link details, which will then be added to their link pages.

Most of the websites that have these submit your site facilities require you to provide a link to their website before you submit your link details, so if the site asks for the location of their reciprocal link then you’d better provide a link to their website, otherwise your link submission won’t be successful.

The topic of this email is Mindset Vs Method...

Here's the thing: Everyone looking to make money online, maybe even you included, wants to know the METHOD...

They want to know the 'secrets' that are being kept from them, the down and dirty techniques that the Guru's or people who are doing well use to get the job of making money online done.

They want the techniques in other words.

Here's the bad news: For most people, and yes I say MOST people, I could hand them the techniques on a silver platter... tell them exactly what to do every step of the way in order to make however much money they wanted, and they WOULD'T make a dime...

I could give them the right key, sit them down in front of the right door and they wouldn't go into the room...

You might think this is weird and hard to believe but it's the blatant truth.

The truth is that there are two things you need to be successful at anything. They are the right Mindset and the right Method. If you have one but not the other you will soon fail.

You can know the right techniques, know exactly what to do but without the right attitude toward your pursuit, you won't even get close.

If you have the right attitude but not the right method...Well that's a little better and if you're attitude is really right you'll sooner or later work out the right method, but you'll take a heck of a long time to do it.

Anyway...

How do I know this? Because I've helped countless people to make money online through my products and my forum. I've seen the best and the worst of them, the ones who've succeeded and the ones who've failed.

I've had people who I will personally coach, have them ask me 10 questions a day every day, so they know EXACTLY the right method, from the ground up - then they put their first niche site up, give it 4 weeks and when it doesn't make a sale they give up and say the method doesn't work and it's not for them!

Are you kidding me!?!? It took me 12 months of playing around online night and day before I started earning a full time income. And most people tell me they've messed around more than that! I tried probably 30 different methods, failed more times than you could imagine. I seriously stuffed it up in as many ways as is possible - the most memorable of which I saw my adsense income go from zero a day to $100 a day within a week - real good work!

Why did I 'make it'?

Because I had the mindset! My passion is personal development, I've been reading success material since I was 15 years old and while I have SO FEW skills, one thing I have is a desire to succeed as strong as anyone you could meet.

Point is:

STOP looking for the right method! Just stop it! Chances are even if you find it:

1. You won't recognize it unless you get results from it in the first week - ie you WON'T recognize it fullstop.

and 2. If you do recognize it you won't make it work because you will sabotage yourself because your mind isn't right. You'll give up too soon, you'll subconciously reject the money if you do make it, or you'll find some other way to generally screw it up!

How about that for some sobering truth.

What should you do instead?

Keep improving your SELF! One thing I've learnt is that when you're running a business, particularly from home, by yourself, with YOU as the main employee, you ARE the business!

The quality of YOU is the quality of the business and if you have negative beliefs about money, bad associations, fear of failure or any other kind of negative patterns, good luck trying to make this stuff work.

So what can you do about all this?

Forget the frickin techniques for a moment and start investing in yourself!

The more I am into this internet business, the more I realise that

I know so little. On average, I am learning 2-3 tricks per day.
